June Lip Service

So, I have to admit it was a little hard for me to pick my favorite lip product for this month, so many great ones that I have tried. With that being said, I have come to a decision on what my favorite lip product is for this month, sorry so late in the month. I was introduced to this product from my EcoEmi subscription May box, it is a natural and vegan product, which I love, from the cosmetic line The Natural Face. The color is in Peppermint Icing and the perfect shade of soft pink, perfect for any skin tone. What I love about this lipgloss is that is leaves your lips with this tingly sensation and with a hint of shimmer that looks so natural, and the best part is that it is not sticky, which makes this the perfect summer companion.

I Needed An Absence To…
Hi everyone!
I know it’s been a while since I’ve been on the site, and I apologize for my absence. However, I believe I needed an absence to understand this journey I am going through with my hair. This process is changing me as a person for the good. I also hope it is changing each one of your lives as well.
I must admit it is so nice to see so many products for natural hair, however, that is where I am having a problem. Your girl, has never been so happy to see so many companies cater to natural hair, but all these products are very confusing to a consumer like me. I feel the big companies are jumping on the bandwagon to sell products, and many of these companies still believe some of us are stuck on stupid when it comes to hair products.
Ever since I have decided to be natural, I wanted to know what is going on my head and body. I just cannot buy a product now, and not know what the ingredients are in a product. On the other hand, it is just as confusing going to a salon, and everyone is using products, but people are not caring what is going in their custom’s hair. That leads me to the final surprise, guys. I want to learn how to do hair through beauty school. I really want to have a better knowledge of hair products for myself, and understand how chemicals really work, and what is good for our hair and what is not. I like where this journey is taking me, but I wish more of us would join us in this journey.
Bye for now,
Shun
May Lip Service
Coral lips are everywhere and a color that looks great on just about any skin tone, you just have to find the right coloring of course. One of faves is the Colorglide Lip Color from The Body Shop in Coral Splash. I love how creamy and moist these lipsticks are and the color is sure to have your lips on trend in a beautiful shade of coral. This tube is resonably priced at about $13 a tube and the reviews are high. I will be gliding this color across my lips all summer long not because it’s what is trendy, but simply because it is a simply gorgeous color that wears well and makes my lips happy while wearing.

Fit with Nic: “FIT Radio Love”
I came across this website called FIT Radio a couple of months ago and I must say this has been a huge help in helping me get through those intense workouts that I just love so much, lol, but I really do oddly enough. The great thing about this site is that it is free to create an account that allows you to favorite different mixes that you like as well as DJ’s. For those that use their phones or tablet devices their is an app that you can install and acess this site from. I thought I would share this gem that I found as a way to help encourage and support that healthy lifestyle!

April Lip Service

April is all about spring and soft pretty girly colors and this month’s lip service is all about those two things. Fairyblood by LAQA & CO. is a jumbo lip gloss pencil that is pricy by my standards, but lovely all the same for about $20 . This is such a great concept, a lip gloss in a pencil that you do not have to sharpen. The texture is smooth and creamy while providing that glossy color.

Green Shadow Colored Envy

With St. Paddy’s day coming up I thought I would create a list of eyeshadows that are sure to keep you from getting the pinch. These colors will also have you looking good in green sure to cause green envy by others.
- Silky Green by Mayha appears only white to the eye however there is a beautiful hint of green that is reflective within this mineral eyeshadow. This would be prefect as a highlighter color or added on top of a pigment color for a more interesting affect.
- Lotsa Lettuce by Face Front Cosmetics is an artistic pigment that is a gilded minty green with yellow undertones throughout and subtle sparks of gold and silver shimmer with what they call an Ultra-Steel Finish. Added on top of a pigment color for a more interesting affect makes this a fun green color.
- Green Fortune by Milani is fun color baked eyeshadow that is a multi dimensional color that is a greenish pink/purple tones. For a more intense color apply with a wet brush for more pop and wow factor.
- Acid Green by Makeup Forever is an iridescent bright yellowish green and truly a pigmented and bendable color, as with any MUFE eyeshadows.
- Lime Criminal by Lime Crime is a true lime colored eyeshadow pigment. With all of their pigments they are very pigmented and sure to please, so if you like bright almost neon greens this is the color for you.
- Freshly Cut by Face Front Cosmetics is a pressed powder that is a warm spearmint green with golden undertone with what they call a Pewter Finish. This color would look great with Silky Green by Mayha buffed along the edge.
- Eye Shadow 385 by Inglot is a matte dark green eyeshadow that is the perfect accompaniment to creating a smoky eye.
- Moon Beam Light Green by Too Faced Cosmetics is a dark green sparkly eyeshadow color perfect for a dark sultry eye look. The color is a rich dark green with iridescent flecks.
- Night Porter by NARS is a dark black with green pearls, the prefect dark green for creating that ever so lovely and sultry smoky eye.
March Lip Service

For some reason March is all about the color green to me with St. Patrick’s Day and all being the most important holiday during the month. I discovered this new makeup line that has some amazing lipstick colors that are bright, colorful, highly pigmented and out of the box colors, KA’OIR. Jamaica is a really gorgeous kelly green color and it is as green as green can get. If you love all things green this is the color to get.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

Fit With Nic Workout Schedule 2/26-3/3

I find that the best way to ensure success is to set yourself up for just that and not failure. For me it helps to make a plan for my workouts for the week so I don’t have to sit around and figure out what should I do today, if you already have it planned out it takes the guess work out of it, keeps you on track and just makes it easier. Since about mid January I started doing ZWOW workouts, which are created my Zuzana Light, formerly of BodyRockTv and love the intensity of the workouts and have lost about 2 inches all over in just over a months time. At this point there are six workouts to choose from so I have been doing those to keep things fresh and interesting, something new each day of the week.
So here is my workout schedule for the next week starting with Sunday through Satuday, which I do not workout on those days, they are my active rest days, your body needs a few days now and then to recover and just be.
Sunday-Rest Day
Monday-ZWOW6
Tuesday-ZWOW1
Wedensday- ZWOW2
Thursday-ZWOW3
Friday-ZWOW4
Saturday-Rest Day

To me it just seems right to talk about the connection of being healthy and how it relates to beauty. It’s not just about how being healthy and in shape makes you look beautiful, for some there is a direct correlation, but it is simply about being healthy on the inside and how it reflects on the outside. When your diet and physical health is where it should be your skin is better, your hair is better, you are just better all around because you are giving your body what it needs to thrive.
So, I’m sure you get it now, hair and skin are better by taking care of yourself, see I told you there was a connection and it relates to what our blog is all about, doing what we love to do naturally, but you have to start at a good place first, the foundation has to be laid to build the house. After talking with Shun, we both decided that we wanted to add a section all about our journey towards being the best that we can be not just for the sake of having better skin and hair, but laying the foundation to a long healthy life.
For the last month and a half I have gotten back on track since the Holidays where I gained about 8 pounds over the course of about 4 months, the Labor Day Holiday season is a tuffy, lol. But, it was for me, last summer mixers, followed by Halloween candy eating, then into Thanksgiving and rounded out with Christmas. Before that I was on track eating better, working out consistently for about 5 months and lost about 30 pounds. In all honesty I think I was a little depressed, life happened and the consequences from that, but that’s another covo all together better suited for another time.
I got back on track the day after Christmas, I made a point that I wanted to end the year on a good note which help set the tone for the New Year, and something has clicked, I finally get it, I finally do. So I was into the groove of things before the New Year, no resolutions set, only realistic goals that are not defined as being achieved by the end of year time.
I have found a meal plan that works for me and a workout plan that I love to do that suits me. I feel better, my stride is better with my shoulders back and a smile on the inside that just is just bursting out. I have a long way to go to reach my goals but I am determined to stay the course and do what needs to be done to get there! More Fit With Nic posts to come soon.
Much love,
Nic
